The aim of this website is to document the ongoing creation of my Final Negotiated Masters Project, focusing on the final outcome of the project and how I got there. There will be a series of blog posts (such as this one) depicting the work and any tribulations or setbacks I may have had to overcome.
The project was originally heading towards an exhibition showcasing the work produced throughout my final semester at university, however, things took an unexpected turn and I was no longer able to do this. The exhibition was a depiction of a scene taken from Darren Shan's 12 book saga collection: Cirque du Freak. The project was supposed to consist of a full scale professional grade set piece, accompanied by a series of maquettes - showing the exterior of the set piece and a puppet (the main character). Due to recent circumstances (the ongoing pandemic) my access to equipment, materials and space were restricted to the point where I have to build, photograph and store my project in one room. Resulting in the final outcomes of the project having to be changed quite drastically.
The project now consists of 2 maquestes depicting the exterior and interior of the scene, the puppet, the circus tent and also digital edits of descriptions given by the primary and secondary characters about the appearance of the exterior set.
